We offer the traditional forest management services, and we can plan and manage a variety of additional services. We can advise, produce specifications and supervise operations to completion on the client’s behalf.

Drone Imaging and Aerial Surveys
It is now possible to augment our traditional activities with the latest emerging technology. Drone surveys of woodlands allow for a new way to visualise, understand and extract actionable information to support a range of uses.

Harvesting & Marketing
In order to maximise profit for the grower, an in-depth knowledge and understanding of harvesting systems and markets is essential.
We have extensive experience in planning, selecting and supervising harvesting systems.

Felling Licences, Grant Applications & SSSI Consents
In all but a few particular circumstances, a felling licence is required for tree felling.
We can provide advice on the availability and suitability of grants available under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
Where a woodland is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest or where a SSSI is adjacent, we can negotiate the consents required from Natural England to enable work to go ahead

Creation, Restocking, Maintenance & Tending
Intelligent design of new plantings is key to meeting owners’ objectives as well as matching species to site and ensuring robust and resilient woodlands.
We work closely with selected forest nurseries in order to acquire the most genetically suitable, high quality planting stock.
Maintenance of new plantings is fundamental to successful stand establishment and can include mechanical and chemical control methods.

Woodland Surveys & Management Plans
Surveys are important and provide information to ascertain a woodland’s condition and health, habitat type, composition, structure, ecological value, productivity and timber value.
The development of a professional Woodland Management Plan provides a structured way of organising the owner’s vision and objectives and ensuring sustainable management of woodlands according to UK Forest Standard principles.
